CHRIS
Chris’s professional achievements have been endorsed by numerous awards and accolades, including a Master Craftsman award which he received at the House of Commons.
As a finalist, nominated for Men’s category of ‘The British Hairdressing Awards’ and three times winner of ‘Black Hair & Beauty Barber of the Year’, Chris has been granted exclusive entry to the ‘Barbering Hall Of Fame’. Chris is proud to also be named amongst the first industry icons to collect the honorary PHAB (Performance in Hair and Beauty) Standard award.
In 2014, he was bestowed the prestigious honour of being elected as Barbering Ambassador for the Hairdressing Council, and picked up a new award called the Most Wanted Male Grooming Specialist in 2016.
ANTHONY
Anthony has worked with many publications such as GQ, MensHealth Magazine, Wonderland Magazine, The Sunday Times and has also had the pleasure to work on various London Fashion Weeks such as Tom Ford and Hackett.
This has lead Anthony to have a great interest in the fashion industry to keep him in touch with the latest trends and looks.
MURAD
At 14 he started working professionally, making his way up to a Senior Stylist over the span of 7 years. Having started to hone his skills and build a client base, Murad saw the appeal of a global city, and in 2004, he took the leap to move to London.
When he arrived, he began building his experience with Italian salon, Abella’s, in South Kensington for 3 years, after which he moved onto to join Gentleman’s Tonic in-house residency within Selfridges. 6 years later, Murad decided to take his career to the next step by joining the team at The Refinery.
Specialising in barbering, beard design, eyebrow threading and shaving, Murad has a fully fleshed artillery of skills that have enabled him to push the salon forward while nurturing valuable relationships with his clients.
RAHIM
Two years later, motivated with his desire to learn English and travel abroad, he moved to London and continued his trade as a barber in North London.
In 2012 having gained more experience, Rahim was offered a role at Gentlemen’s Tonic working at their flagship salon at Selfridges. Fuelled by his desire gradual progression in the industry, he was headhunted by The Refinery in 2013.
Influenced by his natural confidence and acute attention to detail, Rahim quickly accumulated a strong and loyal client base with that he continues to work with. His key motivation is to deliver a first-rate haircut each time a client sits in his chair.
MO
FLORENTINA
Starting as a dedicated hairdresser and then a skilled barber, I quickly embraced my love for cosmetics and makeup, evolving my craft to help clients shine inside and out. In 2013, I took a bold leap of faith and opened my own salon, Bond and Ladies – a dream realized and a testament to my creative spirit.
When my heart called me to London in 2017, I carried with me the same passion, enriching my craft at the revered Pall Mall Barbers, Frizovia, and Gentlemen’s Tonic Mayfair.
Passionate about style and transformation, I love helping clients find their perfect look, combining classic techniques with modern trends. Friendly and approachable, I also offer expert cosmetic tips to enhance their overall appearance.
IMAD
OMAR
Omar has experience with a wide variety of haircut styles and lengths, offering a diverse range of haircuts, catering to men of all ages, from kids to middle-aged gentlemen and distinguished seniors.
He specialises in barbering, hot towel shave, beard design and eyebrow threading, he confidently advises his customers on the most suitable and current hairstyles to match their complexion and face shape.
Omar is married with 2 beautiful kids, he is social, friendly and enjoy dealing with different backgrounds and will quickly become your lifetime barber.
NIAMA
HELEN
She took some time to travel around South-east Asia where she trained in Thai massage while taking the time to develop her cultural opportunities. She returned to London to work with Gentlemen’s Tonic at their in house salon in Selfridges.
Helen has been an integral part of the therapy service of the salon for the past 8 years, specialising in facials, waxing, massage, clippering and manicures + pedicures.
CONCETTA
After completing her studies, she began working in 5-star hotels around Italy. From 2003 to 2015, she built up a wealth of experience within her industry. She worked there from 2003 up until 2015.
It was then that she decided to take the next step for her professional progression by moving to London. When she arrived, she continued with her experience working within spas. After she familiarised herself with the city, Concetta felt the it was time to elevate her craft, which led her to The Refinery. She joined the team in 2017, and with her background working in men’s health, the transition into the salon was natural.
Concetta prides herself on her creative approach to her work – taking the time to understand her client’s core needs in that moment, and focuses on delivering tailored treatments that provide long-term benefits.
LYUDMYLA
Her journey began in medical and sports sciences and later expanded into beauty and massage, allowing her to blend clinical expertise with a holistic touch.
Now specialising in men’s grooming, Lyudmyla focuses on pedicures, facial skincare, and facial massage – delivering treatments that go beyond aesthetics to promote overall well-being and confidence. Her goal is to provide professional, results-driven care tailored to the specific needs of men.
ARIANNA
She began her career learning the ropes in-house at a salon. After 2 years she moved into one of Italy’s most prominent aesthetic salons, specialising in facial treatments and laser hair removal.
Having spent 4 years with the practice, she took the decision to move to London in order to progress her career. The international appeal and potential opportunities that the city had in-store, were always a huge draw
Arianna found her opportunity for progression as she arrived, joining the team at The Refinery in 2018. Since coming on-board, Arianna has become a specialist in the salon for facials, massages, waxing, and laser hair removal.
FRETZEL
With a wealth of experience in providing beauty services in some of the largest luxury salons across London, Fretzel specialises in facials, manicure, pedicure and massage.
Her style is suitably technical, with an emphasis on relaxation and stress relief.
EVELYNA
When she completed her beauty course, Evelyna went straight into practicing independently for 6 years. In that time, she worked back-and-fourth between London and her home of Ghana as a consultant for skincare salons. When she came back to the UK in 2004, she became a fixed asset of The Refinery.
Among the many changes at the time, came the experience of working exclusively with men, which she relished. From the beginning she enjoyed the new dynamic; being able to deliver achievable results for her new clients. Since then, she has built up an extensive base of clients due to her ability to decipher their exact priorities and finding solutions that deliver on their core needs.
Evelyna leads the therapy team within the salon, specialising in facials, massages, laser hair removal, waxing & intimate waxing and manicures & pedicures.
